President’s Award Presented to Three
In recognition of their significant impact on Handbell Musicians of America’s livestream broadcast initiative, Wilson Van Tine, Bob Avant, and Derek Nance were recognized with the President’s Award on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Board President Greig Ashurst presented the awards to Derek Nance and Bob Avant at National Seminar luncheon. Wilson Van Tine was not in attendance and his award was sent to his home.

Bob Avant and Derek Nance are the technical team behind HMA’s livestream program, and their extensive combined experience enables HMA to provide high-level broadcasts. Wilson Van Tine’s initiative in building the program and his continued support has significantly expanded our reach around the country and world. HMA’s livestream audiences continue to grow, and in addition to reaching new people, are an integral part of keeping our organization connected to members who are unable to travel.
Wilson, Bob, and Derek have been instrumental in the success of HMA’s livestream program, and we are so very grateful!
