The HMA board operates under John Carver’s Policy Governance© model and consists of a president, president-elect, and five at-large members. Each member serves the board for a total of six years. Elections occur every three years so that member terms are rotated. The executive director is a non-voting participant. Additionally, a board-appointed secretary serves without voice or vote.

The term of the current board expires September 30, 2026. At that time, Greig Ashurst (president) and Tracey Bowers and Gillian Erlenborn (at-large directors) will conclude their time on the board. HMA will be led by the new president, Kathryn Jurado, and joined by the new president-elect and two new at-large directors. Those new members will join Lynn Atkins, David Harris, and Kathleen Wissinger.
