Make Your Voice Heard in the National Board Election

Linda Onorevole
Executive Director
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” This is a quote from Helen Keller, and it is profound and true, especially for handbells. Not only am I referring to playing our instrument, but also our organization and its structure.
We have a board of directors, who are an important part of how we function. Our board shares their expertise, creativity, and ideas, and works collaboratively to help guide our work and fulfill our mission. An HMA board member serves for six years—a significant commitment—and on behalf of our staff and membership, I share our thanks to those who have served or are serving in this role.
The election for Handbell Musicians of America’s national board is occurring now through March 15, 2026. There is a strong slate of candidates for president-elect and members at-large, and I encourage you to take the time to learn more about them. You can read their bios and answers to provided questions, and watch short videos on our website, handbellmusicians.org/election26.
The election is online, and when you visit the page mentioned above, in addition to the candidate information, you will see a “Vote Now” button on the right side of the page. After clicking that, you will be prompted to log in to your account and once logged in, you will be able to vote. Don’t fret if you forgot your login or if your membership has lapsed. You can reset your password by clicking the link that says, “Having trouble logging in?” and if your membership has expired, you can renew and then vote. If you need help with any part of the process, give us a call at 937-438-0085 or send an email to [email protected].

Executive director Linda Onorevole with current board president Greig Ashurst at Pinnacle 2025.
I would like to share my profound thanks to Greig Ashurst, Tracey Bowers, and Gillian Erlenborn, our board members whose terms end on September 30, 2026. They are an integral part of the evolution of HMA over the past years, and I thank them for their commitment, kindness, and knowledge. And some extra special thanks to Greig, who as president for the past three years, has been so very helpful to me. He is always willing to give his time, and his enthusiasm and energy for handbells is inspiring!
Please do vote in the election for Handbell Musicians of America’s board of directors—your vote matters!
