Though “college” is in the name, College Ring-In is not just for students! This performance-focused event is designed for experienced handbell ringers ages 18-29.

Part of the Handbell Musicians of America’s national event schedule for nearly a decade, this year’s College Ring-In will be led by conductor Brian Seemann, and held at Grace United Methodist Church in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania (near Hershey), from January 4-6, 2024.
Seemann is the director of handbell ensembles at the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, and the music director of Virginia Bronze. He has been music director of the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble and the New England Ringers and has performed with Sonos Handbell Ensemble, Back Bay Ringers, and the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble. He is a published composer, and has served as faculty, clinician, and conductor around the US as well as at several International Handbell Symposia.
College Ring-In participants will spend three days rehearsing music they have prepared in advance and read through new works by their peers during the Unpublished Music Reading Session. A concert will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 4:00 PM, which will be open to the public and livestreamed.

College Ring-In is limited to 30 ringers. Registration is $95 for members of Handbell Musicians of America (either individual or affiliated with a member group) and $120 for non-members. Registration includes three lunches and an event shirt. A Deb Heine Young Ringer Scholarship is available for a ringer who will be aged 18-20 at the time of the event.
